Quinix Adam 6000
Reporter - Release 1.2 |
| |
If you
had a previous installation of QAR
prior to Release
Candidate 1 Revision 21
When installing QAR 1.2, you must delete the
old QAR.ini file located under the “Documents and
SettingsUsersDataTechnologies” folder on your machine.
If you do not, you will receive an error when attempting
to start up the application, or run jobs.
What's New In This Release?
QAR 1.2:
Only the addition of an auto-resume dialog when
attempting to close the application while recording
(based on user feedback).
QAR 1.1 RC1 Revision 23
In this release, the following has been changed to
the implemented solution. Changes in this release:
- The output values are now determined via the
minimum/maximum connected device values entered by the
user against the specified Input Range.
- Configuration settings can now be locked. In
locked mode, it is possible to switch to an existing
IP Address configuration, modify the recording
interval, and run the recorder (and save the output).
For all other changes to the configuration, the user
must first unlock the application to change these
settings.
- Menu items, and buttons have been added to save
configuration settings, and lock/unlock the interface.

General Information About QAR 1.2
|
| |
QAR is built for the Advantech Adam 6017
and 6015 data acquisition modules. The following
information is specific to the installation and
operation of this beta release. Please not that support
is only offered through your vendor, and not directly
with Quinix Technologies. Should you however not be able
to contact your vendor, you may indeed contact us using
our online support facility.
-
The application is available in a Windows
installer package, to facilitate deployment in an
active directory environment if required. However,
this does not limit the deployment on Windows® 2000
platforms (or greater) with latest service patches
applied (as at October 9, 2003).
-
The application is designed for single
instance use, i.e. only one copy should be run at a
time. It may be possible to run more than one instance
concurrently, but we cannot warrant that the results
will be accurate under these conditions. Should
multiple instance support be required, please contact
the manufacturer through your vendor.
-
Multiple instances can be run from
different machines in a network, even if they are being
run against the same Adam modules, up to a maximum of 8
recording sessions against a single device. This is not a
QAR imposed restriction.
-
QAR will store the application settings for
each of the IP Address used for easy retrieval on
subsequent start ups.
-
The application must be open to capture
data, and must not be minimized. Minimizing the
application will pause the recording of data. However,
the application can remain open and in the background
and continue to capture data.
-
CSV files saved with QAR will include a
header row and repeat the IP, Device, and Module name
on each line of the capture.
-
The default file names can be changed
without consequence to the application. The default
file name format is as follows
“IPAddress_Module_YYMMDD_HHMMSS.csv” e.g.
“10.10.23.50_6017_031009_015553.csv”
-
No data is stored in the windows registry.
Settings are stored in the QAR.ini file found under
the
”Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Quinix Technologies\QAR" folder.
-
The average and digital channels are not
monitored with this utility.
-
This utility does not set values on the
module(s), it is therefore imperative that the user
know the configuration of the modules being monitored.
QAR will save configuration settings for the modules
(based on their IP addresses) for ease of use. This
setting are stored for all users of the specific
machine (under the all users windows folder).
-
Product support occurs through the vendor
only, and not directly with Quinix Technologies.
